I have seen it before and it was explained to me that it had something to do with the shutter dragging but I really don't know how to explain it to the person who took this shot.

Thanks for your help.

Corrupt card is the most likely - it's a data rather than mechanical issue.

Less likely (but possible) is a sensor fault

…in short, corrupted data, Possible (but less likely) a buffer fault.
In any case, it should affect only one file… hiccups and happening to anyone and anything.
Should it occur more often than very rarely, there is something needing some attention or service.

It is most likely a corrupt card.
if it were mine I would not use it again.
if it happens again on another card it may be a firmware issue related to data handling in some form.
in that case it would be worth trying resetting the camera to factory settings.
Should it reoccur again it is time to send the camera back for repair.

Not always a corrupt card, can happen during transfer to pc or possibly a hard drive error - either way its corrupt data. Try the card in another pc, then format it in the camera when you have backed up the data on it. If the files are good on the card you should check your hard drive for errors.
