What happened here then?

I took some 60 second exposures of the night sky last night, hoping to see some meteors.

Some of the pictures came out normal, with the clouds orange from the street lights, and black sky, but some came out with white clouds and bue sky.

Any idea why they're different?

Hi Garry,
according to the exif you had the camera on auto white balance. Sure thats the prob. Can get a bit mixed up at times

It's never happened before, and last night was ok as well. I'll try it on manual white balance next time and see if any of the different settings do it again.

I agree with Ian. Looks like a white balance issue to me. Was it set to auto? If you shot in RAw it's easily fixed.

For shots of the night sky set your white balance to Tungsten, then make any slight changes later if needed.
