What Is Attribution

[CaptainPenguin]

Found one of my shots being used by a cricket coaching site and being unable to spot any attribution contacted the site, the site owner came back saying there was attribution so I has another look.
Well there at the bottom of a long article with about 6 other unattributed photo's taken by someone else in the smallest font possible was my attribution,I asked that this be placed under my photo or the photo removed and he has removed the photo, was I just being stroppy or was he taking the **** out of what is meant by attribution

You've been perfectly reasonable, IMO, and he's been too quick to react negatively and has now lost a potential valuable source of free images. I presume there was no payment involved.

This. He was doing the absolute minimum and playing the system. Good call - by you

[CaptainPenguin]

No payment involved Chris

They pay for the images - you get more respect.

sometimes it isnt possible or desirable to put attribution right under the image - but thats by the by here - he shouldnt be usiong your images without your consent at all with or without attribution and you'd be quite within your rights to demand payment.

It was taken off Flickr so that was ok but maybe its time to change the Flickr licence

I wouldn't put any picture within a million miles of Flickr.

We know I use flickr and I think it's great but whenever you put an image online you run the rush of theft, so you have to be ready to fight that on every occasion
