What really annoys you about photography sites

poor spelling, referring to yourself in third person, Carl Spring doesn't like that. Pomposity, music, too many types of photography e.g. pets, kids, glamour, cars, fetish. If you do lots of different types of photography, maybe look at a cpl of sites rather than one clogged one.

Several shots from the same shoot, too many shots in a portfolio, 20 is more than enough to show your best work in any section.

Poor font choice, and general design. Clean, crisp & easy to navigate. No more than 2 fonts, poor colour choices.

these ones are not specifically photography site hates, but a few general business website hates:
- lack of physical snailmail address. I want to know who they are and where they are before I'll spend any money or even contact them.
- unclear or missing product/service descriptions. I won't buy it if I dont know what is available and some relevant info.
- arty photos to depict products that fail to show the product clearly or use stupid model poses
- fill a form to get a brochure or product details posted/emailed (instead of a straight download or having the info on the web pages)


for photography websites, if I was a potential customer, I'd be put off by things that say amateur pretending to be pro eg.
- lots of photos of the same model (says limited studio sessions)
- holiday shots and friends & family out & about stuff.

What would give confidence though:
- clearly saying if amateur / semi-pro / pro (its those pretending to be full time super pro when its just a hobby with the hope of paid work that bugs me, clearly saying it is fine though)
- identified section for "my own fun non-commercial stuff", just because its hobby / holiday / friends and family doesn't prevent it being a valid display of talent, but don't try to pass it off as pro commercial work
- a clear depiction of the facilities and equipment available (eg. pic of studio & lighting setup, heap of impressive looking camera gear)
- a photo of the photographer. With personal event photography (eg weddings, christenings, etc) I would want to know the photographer is somebody who will fit in with the event.
