Ive seen a few requests asking for an Canon 18-55 IS kit lens.

I havent used mine for a while so i am considering selling it.

I have recently purchased some studio lights for home use so my question is:-

Should i sell or keep the kit lens & if i sell it what should i replace it with?

I currently have a Sigma 24-60 & 70-200.

I guess i should be looking at 10-?? or similar to make use of the crop body
or am i barking up the wrong tree?

Two questions for me really

1) What do you want to use it for?
2) How much do you want to spend?

Oh and another ques .................. Do you feel that there is any focal length missing in your current lens line up? Are you ever wishing for extra mm's?

Hi Swag,

1. Mainly portrait in the home.
2. Max £300
3. I would like some extra mm's so im considering a 2x extender.
I also get the urge sometimes to take pictures of the spiders & things when
out & about but not really interested in a full on macro setup.

Could look at the 17-85IS lens and possibly sell the Sigma 24-60 for a wide angle ??

I'll get the first (probably of many) votes for the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8!

It depends what you want in a walkabout lens though. Because you have something starting at 24mm, maybe a 10-20mm, or a 10-22 would be better. Personally I find that the 17-50 range on a crop sensor is perfect for me, as I like to do landscapey things when I'm walking around, an 24mm wouldn't be wide enough for me, but it's your choice really!
