What speedlight

I am a Nikon user and when I was looking for a flash the suggestion was to save and go for the nikon one as opposed to the nissin one.

I got a used SB800.

A lot of people have suggested the nissin Di866 to be a good flash.

Canon - no contest. But it's a load more money.

Nissin equivalent is the Di866, which is also a master controller, does high speed sync etc. Canon is still favourite, but also more money.
 
Never Nissin.... :)
They overheat a lot, and they outperforme in the GN number.

The best choice Canon 580EX II, is for life. but its pitty but true nikon flashes are the best.
