hi all was thinking of having ago at taking some wildlife photography. what would you buy for a grand? any make of camera would do and lens not botherd. any help ??
I'd think about the Sigma 150-500, good reach for wildlife an awesome OS system, then spend the rest on the best body you can get with the money. Careful shopping may get you a Canon 40D or perhaps a 50D

If the wife has a Nikon then stick to Nikon, you can share lenses.
So.. to the nitty gritty.. D90 + The longest lens you can get, though for your budget it will be a toss up between something like the Sigma's or an older manual focus 400mm F5.6
Or get a Sigma 100-300 f4 EX HSM DG + a TC - A recommended wildlife lens (had one anit)
Yep but he did say the camera is the wifes and he needs his own.
