This has probably been done before, but if so I couldn't find it on a search.

I've just got my hands on my long awaited 40D and was itching to start using it. :woot:
It is quite a momentous occasion taking the first photo with a new camera, so it got me wondering what other people took for the first shot with their camera (probably something far more imaginative than mine!)

Anyway, here's mine. Anyone else want to show theirs?

It was either that or the box!
 
My first picture was of some blue tits on a fence, but as I remember it came out kind of greenish so it went straight in the bin!

Then I went round the kitchen, garden, shed etc taking very random pictures! (I still do that actually)
 
mine was the front room carpet.....i just wasn't ready......from what i remember it was badly underexposed :D
 
for me it was a blur! i forgot to put the lens on! after that it was the sitting room and tv. or the lampshade!
 
First shot i took was my house from the end of the garden pretty boring shot really.
 
I was one end of the sofa with the manual and the camera, the girlfriend was the other end watching TV, she was sat under the lamp which was nice so I thought Id be annoying and snap lots of pics of her as I went through the manual.

I loved my 50mmf1.4 after those shots in low light
 
Nothing hugely exciting, just the clock on the church opposite our house.

Just a shot of my brother when i got back from italy to find my camera sitting in the box :D

First shot was the first person I saw after my girlfriend had given me a zeiss nettar folding camera as a present. Happened to be the kid next door playing in the gutter in the street. He must be well into his fifties by now.
I still have the snap somewhere.
 
The picture in my avatar is one of the very first shots made on the day of the purchase.

Wow, it looks like we have a similar collection on our mantle over the fireplace. This was the very first click of the shutter with the new camera when it arrived in Jan. Still in JPG as I hadn't done enough research to know better and shoot in RAW.

My camera or EVER?

EVER ? I dunno, probably some film disposible back in the 80's when i was a kid.

This DSLR? I dunno, never kept it, as it was most likely a shot taken in my front room to test it out.
