What was your first camera?

My first camera when I was 14 was a Halina 110 STB but used my Dad's Pentax K1000 whenever I could.

That was followed by a Pracktica MTL5 with 50mm Pentacon when I was 17. I added a Vivitar 28mm and 70-210 shortly after.

Then for about 12 years had a variety of point and shoot 35mm and APS before buying a Kodak DC215 my first digital camera in 2003.

Kodak Brownie 44A - Summer of 1962; followed by a Halina 35x a couple of years later.

~Fantastic old Prakitika B. Lost in a burglary in south London.:'(........along with a very decent old but old quality hi-fi system. Still nobody got hurt.

Zenith EM (which I'm sure I still have up in the loft somewhere) my mum and dad got me around 1982 or so, various 35mm film cameras and compact digitals since then.. but buying my first D-SLR later this month yay :woot:

canon powershot a75 brillant little camera used it for 3 years before my dslr and film cameras

It was a red boots disc camera - i thought i was the bees knees!!!!!! Every time i pressed the shutter release button the whole camera would move!

Got to say though, it went lovely with my turquoise batwing jumper and cerise legwarmers:lol:

So have you upgraded your outfit to go with the new camera, or can I still picture you in that eccentric garb?

ahhhh Canon T70 with all its buttons on the top panel and its 2cm screen on the right top....technology at its best lol

Oh, I think it was a Pentax K1000 if that's correct? When I say it was mine, it was the camera I learned with at University - that an the Mamiya 645 (again, I think)

Cheers,
James

Well, i'm off to watch Flashdance the musical in a few weeks so i might just have to dig those legwarmers out!!! "WHAT A FEEEEEEEEEELING!!!!!!!!"

Mine was a Olympus XA2.

Fantastic camera at the time. Had a great lens.

My first camera was a hand me down Brownie 127 from my sister in the early 70's. Typically as a pre-teenager, I managed to lose/break it. That was followed by an original compact - A Kodak 110 kit - piece of junk, but then my uncle gave me his Praktica EE2.

This was my first SLR with a 50mm, 28, and a 80-200 zoom, all in one of those aluminium cases. I kept that until I got a new Pentax ME Super in my early 20's. This lead to toying with Nikon (F301 I think) until I bought a Canon EOS620 in 1987 - that was the last camera I bought until my EOS 350D about 3 years ago, some 19 years or so later.....

The 620 was one of the most advanced cameras in it's day, and it still works perfectly, I ran a couple of rolls of film through it last year, one of them at the WHF on a TP day

I had a lot of old hand me downs, the first proper camera I had was a Pentax Program A, then a Canon 10d and now a Canon 40d. They are all still working fine.

My first camera was an Olympus trip 35. Got some quite good photo's with it..

First was my Dad's Agfa Isolette II - probably early 70's

First ''Proper camera'' of my own was a Praktica BC1 35mm

My first camera was a Nikon Coolpix 990 which i got at a serious discount (over £300 less than UK price) from a Nikon Dealer i was doing some work for at the time. When i sold it on 2 years later i still made money on it

Had a kodak disk camera for my 21st in the 1980s from my then girlfriend- now wife. If you remember they had 15 very small negs on a disc that slotted into the camera. Negs were so small that quality was always poor- but I loved it!!!

A Zeiss Ikon Netta with a Nova 3.5 lens bought for me by my father in the 1950's and I still have it. The first one I bought myself was an Instamatic, a 500 I think with built in exposure meter that probably actually only had light or dark settings.
