~Fantastic old Prakitika B. Lost in a burglary in south London.........along with a very decent old but old quality hi-fi system. Still nobody got hurt.
Zenith EM (which I'm sure I still have up in the loft somewhere) my mum and dad got me around 1982 or so, various 35mm film cameras and compact digitals since then.. but buying my first D-SLR later this month yay
Oh, I think it was a Pentax K1000 if that's correct? When I say it was mine, it was the camera I learned with at University - that an the Mamiya 645 (again, I think)
My first camera was a hand me down Brownie 127 from my sister in the early 70's. Typically as a pre-teenager, I managed to lose/break it. That was followed by an original compact - A Kodak 110 kit - piece of junk, but then my uncle gave me his Praktica EE2.
This was my first SLR with a 50mm, 28, and a 80-200 zoom, all in one of those aluminium cases. I kept that until I got a new Pentax ME Super in my early 20's. This lead to toying with Nikon (F301 I think) until I bought a Canon EOS620 in 1987 - that was the last camera I bought until my EOS 350D about 3 years ago, some 19 years or so later.....
The 620 was one of the most advanced cameras in it's day, and it still works perfectly, I ran a couple of rolls of film through it last year, one of them at the WHF on a TP day
I had a lot of old hand me downs, the first proper camera I had was a Pentax Program A, then a Canon 10d and now a Canon 40d. They are all still working fine.
My first camera was a Nikon Coolpix 990 which i got at a serious discount (over £300 less than UK price) from a Nikon Dealer i was doing some work for at the time. When i sold it on 2 years later i still made money on it
Had a kodak disk camera for my 21st in the 1980s from my then girlfriend- now wife. If you remember they had 15 very small negs on a disc that slotted into the camera. Negs were so small that quality was always poor- but I loved it!!!
A Zeiss Ikon Netta with a Nova 3.5 lens bought for me by my father in the 1950's and I still have it. The first one I bought myself was an Instamatic, a 500 I think with built in exposure meter that probably actually only had light or dark settings.
