What's causing this fringing?

I wasn't talking about your post specifically. The rest of the page is just useless drivel about two different opinions with hoo-hah and arrogance thrown in.

I've tried to explain what the OP's problem is. I have recreated it, and shown the results.

It is all in very good humour as far as I'm concerned - Arkady and I are no strangers to this kind of debate ;)

Apologies for any hoo-ha and arrogance.

Hey... me and Hoppy have this thing going in every thread we can fit it into...it's like the Morcambe and Wise show...

No arrogance here, just mucking about...

Besides, anyone can see it's light-bleed on the cheap, inferior North Korean sensors and the optics hewn from solid basalt used by Canon...

Oh dear, what have I done? :D

I did have a nagging doubt when I originally posted and mentioned the filter that the discussion might head this way. I'm right out of Butterkist too... ;)

It's generally all good stuff though with some good debate. On advice is was able to desaturate the offending edge in seconds so it is not a drama.

er... wasn't that suggested in posts 2 & 3
and then quickly dismissed by others :):)

They offered alternative opinions...

My opinion based on what I'm seeing here and on 30 years experience as a photographer is as stated...
