What's the best camera accessory you have ever bought?

Best true accessory: Pocket Wizard TT1 and TT5 set
Best Buy: Set of elinchrom RX 600s

Nikon wrist-strap bodged to arca-compliant RRS L-bracket (D300 model milled to fit D700). No clumsy neck strap, no problem mounting the camera to the tripod in portrait orientation :)

Vertical/battery grip. Sony one as it has all the rear button controls in the same configuration, unlike the cheapy cheapy chinese clones, most of which only have the shutter release button or at most only a few of the controls.

Makes shooting in portrait mode SO much easier and balances the camera with longer lenses.

Grip for me too, the camera balances just right with it, and the extra controls make shooting in portrait much easier.

I love them all, grip, 580ex2 flashes, RF602 wireless triggers, carbon fibre tripod, gorilla pod copy (don't feel so bad when it only gets occasional use as I didn't pay a fortune for it) the mono pod is good for those long days shooting with the 70-200 2.8 IS

So far, my little lenspen that I only bought to increase the spend on an order to get free delivery.
Use it loads to keep everything shiney and new.

Spudz microfibre lens cloth. It's so handy having it clipped to the camera strap stored in it's own little bag :)

But what coffee do you put inside? That's the important question!

At the moment it's boggo Tchibo Guatemala Mountain...anything apart from bloody instant for the caffeine-hit will do though...

Thinktank Airport International V2

My back is no longer bearing the brunt of heavy kit ;)

I'd say the MB-D80 Battery grip, makes the camera feel more balanced,

Sigma 18-200mm Lens, the workhorse of all my lenses

:)

In recent years I would have to say the dimminutive Manfrotto Modo tripod I bought for My G11, but it's gone way beyond that remit.

It's just so light and versatile, and will even take my 500D +lens up to 400grm without a problem.

I guess the best thing is I can detach the centre column and use it on the bed next to me with the legs splayed out and even though I have a 190ProB, the little Modo still see's more use.

When using the main tripod, the modo also doubles nicely as a stand for slave flash.

Also the joystick head is very easy for those like myself with limited mobility in their hands/arms, to use.

I wouldn't be without it

Cheap - my viewfinder extender allows me to see the whole viewfinder while wearing glasses.

Expensive - my last holiday around the American Rockies. I got enough shots to keep me busy for months. Loved the Tetons and Arches natioal parks.

Flashgun. After all, photography is primarily about light.

One of Dean's bean bags.

Got used every day in Namibia last year and in all sorts of places, from vehicles to railings to rocks and walls. I'm sure that trying to balance the camera any other way would have resulted in a few paint chips.

If you can get your hands on it, try Meinl Jubiläumsmischung. My absolute favourite, subtle and mellow, mmmmhh.

I'm hoping that tomorrow it will be my new Sigma 150-500mm lens. :D
