Hey all,

Got a manfrotto monopod as a free gift the other week and it had a black plastic clip thingy around the main shaft.
Its got what I can only describe as a hexagonal socket thing on it.

Any ideas?

its the key to tighten the leg clips if they get lose.

I am looking foward to finding out as well!! I just can not see what use it is for. Apart from it keeps falling off all the time. So I hope its not important.

Thats what it is on mine anyways. - it only fits the hex head nut though.

Like Stuart has said, it's a spanner to tighten the leg clamps if/when they work loose. For most of the monopod's life, it's not really important but for that one time when the leg starts slipping slowly through the clamp, it's VITAL! Either tie it to the monopod of shove it somewhere in your kit bag - you never know when you'll need it, apart from that it'll be the day after you've lost it or when it's at home...

If you look on the opposite side of the overcentre catch on the legs to the handle itself you will find some silver nuts, it's for tightening those.

Fits on my 055 pro.

It so that when the handles stop gripping the legs tightly you can adjust yer nuts
