Pointless post that's probably going to be the highlight of my evening given that I intend to spend it editing / sorting photos..

My backlog currently stands at 6 months / 1000 images / 20 albums. Fortunately none are for paying customers :p

Can anyone beat my apathy benchmark?

5000 portraits since Sept 5th..... 3 days backlog so far. Only 1700 to shoot over the next 2 weeks... Sometimes 500 a day so the post work making sure the white floor is pure white can take a day or so. plus the group montages take time too... who said digital makes life easy. The only easy stuff is the Chroma key background work.

Dream on.....

Roll on Xmas a whole month off.....

I tend to process withing a few days of shooting. I am really bad at deleting the crap and keywording, so have probably 30k photos which need going through and weeding out the crap and rest keyworded!

Just some christening photos and some landscape photos for me.

Side note, the part I seem to find least enjoyable in my personal photo process is uploading to flickr, it is always so tedious; naming/tagging/putting in groups etc.

Up to date with processing, one wedding album to do tomorrow, one still to have the B&G choices made and I'm up to date. Got some pics to go out to models and a personal project to finish. Not too shabby!

I will edit as soon as I get home, I am not very patient. But with film its different, I have had rolls of film in my camera for months.

up to date with processing - waiting on three sets of album choices so I can start design, but off on holiday for 3 weeks at the weekend so they'll wait till I return (and my clients know this)

if i am taking photos for a purpose...i edit straight away
if its holidays for printing i can be up to 8 weeks as mrs crow is doing the video editing
i go back every now and then to the backup and see if there is anything i missed regarding doing a bit of post processing
just now i am really ditching so much stuff which i thought was good
slides and prints as well

Funnily enough, just been catching up on my backlog from April over the past week. I think my retiscence was due to the fact I had taken my first RAW shots and didn't know with to do with them.

I have now been reading the DPP manual and looked at an online training video and it's not as complicated as I thought it was, with the result that I think I'll be shooting a lot more in RAW. The Canon DPP software really makes it easy to weed out the rubbishy pictures.

I'm still waiting to find some time to process a set from Paris from about a month ago, but that's it! I generally stay on top of them, but I got rather trigger-happy and have hundreds of shots to go through!

Erm .... 14,960 images in my 'Work In Progress' folder dating back to December '08! Not quite as bad as it sounds as I've worked on some of them but have yet to make a 'final final' decision. There's still time!!

Andy
