Hi guys

Skies are meant to be quite clear tonight especially towards the west. I quite fancy venturing out and trying to get some pictures of the Milky Way. I live in fife, over on the east coast. I'm prepared to drive up to about an hour and a half or so. Can anyone recommend where to go? Somewhere with dark skies is what I'm looking for. Many thanks.

It's not that hard to see on a clear night, I regularly see it from my back garden and there is a street lamp in front of our house. Just get away from any significant light pollution like a large town and let your eyes adjust for 15 minutes or so. Any unlit road away from towns will probably do.

if you find somewhere let me know where you went as I'm over in west lothian but its very polluted with lights here

Try Harperrig for milky way. An astronomy group use that area and its very dark.
