Which 300mm for Sport Photography...

Hi,

Looking to get myself a 300mm Lens for Sport Photography (football/Rugby) in the next 5 Weeks, all used options Which would you pick off the following?

Nikon AF 300mm F/2.8D ED (Old lens)

SIGMA 300mm f/2.8 EX DG APO HSM Nikon AFD Nikon

Sigma EX 120-300mm f/2.8 DG HSM APO OS

Personally I'd go with the 120-300 for versatility.

Have you considered the 300mm f4?

Might save you some pennies and it's a very good lens.

No f/4 isn't good enough for the Sport Iam photographing (night games etc.) Need f/2.8 Only!

With a single body set up id opt for the 120-300mm

The old Nikon focusses too slow, and the sigma zoom is reputed to be a better lens that the prime, even before the versatility of it
