If you're a beginner then "Understanding Exposure" is a fabulous book. It lays everything out in a way which is easy to understand and really gets the information across.

I highly recommend it.

The book you have chose it the book most people on here recommend. I have it and its a fantastic book. Worth the money :P

Bought that book this week..... in the first 20 pages things all started to click for me..... highly recommended at the price.

But to note, I am a complete beginner, so might not be suited to someone who needs to "further" their knowledge rather than a basic understanding.

Well im not a beginner but I seem to be overlooking very important aspects of photography. So some back to basics should hopefully correct the mistakes I keep making.

This one is very good Digital Exposure Handbook LINK written in plain English and easy to follow.

Also a good informative book is this one on Lighting LINK

Also look at getting light science and magic, you'll end up with it anyway at some stage I think, most people do, and for good reason :)

I've just starting reading Understanding Exposure and its helped me greatly learning how to use manual mode. Being a beginner the thought of manual mode was a no go area but the book explains things very well.

Once I have gone throught these first two sets of books I will look at others, going to attend some studio workshops locally so that will give me some practicle experience and as soon as the weather picks up can try going outdoors and putting it to practice.
