Hi can anyone advise me on a course for total beginners.I have my own DSLR and have been reading books and magazines but would prefer some hands on tuition.I live in East Tilbury in Essex and cant find a Digital course near to hand.I have seen a weekend course in London,Nigel Wilson Basic Photography, has anyone been on this or know someone who has?Any help would be much appreciated,Thankyou.

if you use Canon try Experience Seminars. I did the introduction courses a while ago when I first started and they were quite good.

Unfortunately they are just for Canon as they train you with your camera so no use if you use Nikon etc.

Thanks Paul, but i have a Nikon,i wonder if they do something similar?

Believe it or not my local camera club is closing for a summer break. Thanks Kimo will get in touch with Steve,as a beginner is this course right for me?

It depends on how much you know. If you already know the basics of using a camera like a point and shoot then you may be better off starting on the Intermediate course. Talk to Steve he is really helpful and would guide you to what is best for you.

Going at a bit of a tangent, have you looked at subscribing to some podcasts, too? One that springs to my mind is at www.tipsfromthetopfloor.com, although I'm sure that there are many others.

I have to declare an interest, though, as I've been on a few of Chris's workshops, too.
