Which new lens?

I'm a complete beginner with a D40X at the moment I have this lens:

I'm going to stick with the lens for a little while but I feel like I'd like to get into landscape photography. I was wondering what a good lens would be to get me started?

I'm on a very low budget and would obviously buy second hand where possible!

For the time being Id stick with what you have. Anything wider is expensive.

You can get your landscape shots with the lens you have.

A tokina 11-16 will work well (see link in siggy) but on your d40x I think its manual focus. They are around 450 new (might be more now) so second hand around 300?

If you have a local used camera store, see what they have.
Most decent lenses seem to start at around 400 with a few exceptions.

35mm f1.8 isn't too bad and around 180. Doubles as a portrait lens too and has f1.8 for bokeh.

What mm do you find you use the most on your current lens? That will give you an idea what you would need to look for. The older lenses on ebay and other places might only be manual, but shouldn't bee too much neither, so if you know what to search for, you might find a bargain
