Which phone network for iPhone?

Looks like I will upgrade to iPhone 4s soon. Was wondering if there is any actual difference between networks?

I am sure there are some horror customer service stories from all networks, but really looking to know if any of them are faster than others on mobile internet.Voda for example say their network is built for data use... just marketing talk?

Been with Voda for last 18 months and prefer o2 for coverage, although Voda is acceptable.

1) Vodafone: 3.04 MB average

2)= 02: 2.61 MB

2) =Orange: 2.61 MB

3) Three:1.48 MB average

4) T-Mobile: 1.40 MB.

best ask around people you know in the areas you visit and try and get an accurate cross section of networks.

Most of my friends are luddites!! Tend to be out all over the place, not just around Cambs but Anglia + London too, so an average is fine for me.
 
I personally have found Vodafone to be the best in general, yes sometimes you may pay more for your contract with them but i think its worth it.

A few years back where i used to live and work i would be lucky to get 1 single bar of signal with orange, but my work phone which is on Vodafone had full signal... So personal phone got changed to Vodafone and been with them ever since.

Not a single problem with Data either on vodafone, in my last house i was probably getting nearly full whack top speed and was brilliant compared to the 3 and O2 3g dongles that could barely push dial up speed, if you could connect in the first place!!!
 
Orange and T-mobile now share a network so I would have thought T-mobile would now be higher in that list.
I personally don't know a single person who's been with 3 that didn't regret it (for coverage and speed).
 
I'm on 3 for my iPhone and for me it works absolutely fine in terms of speed and coverage.

Key for me was making sure I had good coverage in my key areas i.e. home; work; main commute routes etc.

No good having Orange/Vodafone/O2 if the signal is poor in your key locations.

At work lots of the team were using Orange and O2 when I started there and struggled and tolerated very poor to no signal in our building - madness!
 
I'm on 3 with my iPad and I've never had a problem. I originally bought a 12 month prepaid sim (when the iPad was originally released), when it came to renewal I thought I would use my sim from my Vodafone dongle till I could find a new deal. That only lasted 3 days, terrible 3G coverage and really poor speeds (around the north east). I ended up getting another 3 sim PDQ and it was like night and day.
 
I've been with vodafone for donkey's years and will be looking for a different provider as coverage seems to be pretty rubbish in my house now and became even worse when I got my Iphone 18 months ago.As I don't have a landline at home I need something reliable as I'm fed up taking the phone into the garden to get a decent signal. also found that quite often I can't get a good signal in other areas whilst friends on other networks can but I supposed it works in reverse in other areas. :shrug:
 
this may be slightly off topic but all too technical for me..........

I went to O2 as a customer with them to buy a dingle dongle thing so could get interwebs on my netbook when not connected via ethernet or wifi, when down in Hastings last month.

the guy in the O2 shop suggested I went to 3 as their coverage for such things was better and the speed a lot quicker.

No idea if that means the same as above or not. I assume so, as the principles are the same - internet via a sim card. :shrug:

If the above is crap, let me know and I'll remove it.
