Hi guys, I'm going to pick up a Manfrotto 005xprob tripod over the weekend from Jessops, now that they've reduced the price to £105.
However, as a novice, I was wondering which head I should get from either the Manfrotto Pan + Tilt Head MN804RC2 for £48.95 or the Manfrotto 496RC2 Compact QR Ball Head for £54.99.
I quite fancy the ball head, but, as I am getting more and more into macro photography I am wondering whether the ball head would easily support a Canon 550d plus a 100mm macro lens, and likely a flashgun too. I am really thinking of the angles that the head would need to support the kit. Is there a chance that the head would "creep" under the weight? If there is, I would rather get the Pan and Tilt head instead.
Other than macro's, I will use the tripod to take long exposures, landscapes and night shots. The 100mm macro lens is my heaviest, with my next heaviest being the 55-250 zoom, which actually is very light.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
