ok, i know its a LOOOOOONG time off my wedding yet, but i like to be organized :) got things booked already :)


So I need help choosing a photographer!

ok here are my NEEDS:
at LEAST 2 photographers
a disc full of images...at least 400
someone who just keeps their finger on the shutter all day long...i want to capture EVERYTHING in pictures :)
fun pictures...not too keen on alot of posed ones!
and last but not least must have nice pictures :) LOL

on to the WANTS (but not essential):
photographers who have shot at the venue before (chester zoo!)
engagement shoot at the location


OK...so which photographers would you go for?
or if you recommend someone better....please feel free to leave me a link, i'll look at each and every one.

why not meet them both? - go with the ones you are most comfortable with. You spend along time with them on the day

Oh Boy... This is a can of worms right enough.... :-) The last thread that came up like this was eventually shutdown by the mods.. ( because "opinions" about the quality of someones work especially known pro's arent tolerated... One guys work was TOTALLY trashed and it started appearing in google searches for his name and his customers seeing it... (quite rightly in my opinion) But the bottom line is always .. "What do YOU think is the best? Only you can answer that... and it probably better if you do:cool::D

My choice would be the first one based on the galleries supplied... Just my opinion FWIW :-)

Like Hugh says - you need to look at their work (and I don't just mean their web site) meet them and chat to see if you think you can get along with them on the day. Obviously they need to be comfortable with the brief you give them and then there's price.

Key thing is - don't just look, you have to sit with them and look through FULL wedding albums and chat with them. I had a portrait client recently who booked her wedding photographer purely by looking at his web site and exchange of emails. Apparently it was a disaster on the day. He was rude, shouted at people and had a whistle! An envelope with a set of proofs was through her letterbox when they got back from honeymoon and she said they were so bad she wept for two days. She then started to doubt that the photos on his site were actually taken by him.

dont get me wrong i stalk their blogs constantly LOL i always have to see a full set of images from the same wedding....not just the best ones :)

a whistle...really?? PMSL thats bad!!


ok before it starts arguements...i dont want you to slate anyone photographs.....i just want your opinions on what you would choose and why.....and if you would like to recommend someone else, please do so :)

I've removed the links to photographers web sites. We don't allow comments on someone's work who is not here to speak for themselves.

understood :)

but i always need reassurance on these sorts of things, its a big decision, and im only getting married once (hopefully!) so need to make sure the pictures are right , and where better to ask than a photography forum! LOL

of course ill meet the togs beforehand etc, but just needed help choosing which togs to take a look at!
