Actually a panned shot good or bad

Chris - the first image looks like a still from a video camera :s - The second one could maybe do with touching up a little more - its a little dark (or my monitor, I am on my laptop right now). Love the eyes in the second one though - really captures the most amazing part of this incredible animal (IMO).

yours look pretty darned good
they were a fair way off and I struggled with 200mm x1.4

Cheers again, I think that is a bit "flat" rather than dark now you mention it (y)

Any better

those are very good Ian,
well done sir (y)

I knew would eventually jump in Ian :D

Nice one's ( both of you) (y)

I had a feeling Ian would have a couple of half decent shots, He hovered round there with the big lens for quite some time! All mine were rubbish! :p

... OOOOHHH! LadyLens! very nice! (y)

well mine were severely cropped!

crikey LadyLens - those are very good (y)
and not over-sharpened
imho

Thanks :) i did have a slight advantage though lol

Is yours cropped at all ?

Advantage? is that what you call it?:LOL::LOL:
I cut about a 1/3rd
Off the picture ( don't know what the technical term would be for that though)
I was @ 200mm plus 2xTC
and a 1.6 sensor against your full frame (I beleive?)

Excellent Ladylens (y) #1 especially

Yep cutting a 1/3rd off the picture is called a crop :)

Mines 1.3 sensor, the DS is a full frame. If i had put the 20D on i would have had an even smaller field of view which, considering none of these shots are cropped at all, but as they came out of the camera, i would have had some issues with lol :)

Some very good shots coming out all over the place from yesterdays little trip :)

LadyLens,
what glass did you use?

even more impressed then!
well done ma'am!

A Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR Mike. It was worth the neck ache carrying it ;)

I would quite like one of those, I had Joes Dads 70-300 4. -5.6 VR, had to give it back, want one of those too :D

Well like yours cropped, probably more harshly as I didn't have a TC on, but I HAVE to have that lens :D

Your welcome to borrow it LL but I doubt that a 70-200 IS will fit your cam-cam-cccam'ra :D

I managed a couple, rather late in the day
