Why????

There's always a few threads like this.

"I've taken what I think is a stunning shot, why doesn't anyone comment?"

Sometimes I do, but other times I may be interested in the subject matter and just storing ideas for a future shoot. If I see something that works I may try something similar later.

Just for the record, you couldn't be further from the truth. If I wanted endless praise for what I thought was a stunning shot, I'd open a Flickr account.

If I post a picture in the critique section, that's exactly why it's there :)

Thanks to everyone that's taken the time to reply to my initial post. It's given me food for thought

That unfortunate appendage a bloke has to carry is a very unattractive object and when an attempt is made to hide it, I just think the pose looks uncomfortable.

That has to be the quote of the week for me . . . and from a man too!

You're welcome.
I don't normally venture into the portraits forum at all (nude or otherwise), but curiosity has got the better of me now so I'm off to look at your shot.
. . . and after encouraging other people to express their opinions I suppose I'd better leave a comment :)

I have to admit, I was one of your 1.4k hits, who didn't comment.
Sorry.

I looked at the picture, and apart from slicing the nipple off, which another poster had put, I could not see anything wrong with it.
I find with Good photos, in the crit section, I don't post. With excelent photos I would say something like 'great shot'.
With poor photos, I would say why I think they are poor.

I think that photo is good. But I cannot think how I would improve it, sorry.

I only comment if I think I have something to add to the ongoing discussion - unfortunately I often just find the images so atrocious that words fail me...
I just haven't the heart to keep saying "this is ****: give up photography and take up accounting instead..."

It wears you down, being the bearer of such disappointment, day-in, day out...it crushes the soul, it really does...

Ha Ha, Oh Dear...I wonder if i fall into this category.....
