Wifes iphone has a frozen phone screen?

Everything else seems to be working apart from the actual phone/dialing screen that is either locked or just plain frozen. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

have you tried a reset
hold the home button and the off button together untill it goes off
then turn it on and the apple logo will hold for a while and it will reboot
 
dont panic:runaway: if it takes a while on the apple logo

My one did this the other day, solution is easy though.

1: connect the cable into the phone but do not plug in the usb plug into the pc or laptop.

2: Start itunes.

3: Holding down the home button on the iphone plug usb cable into pc or laptop.

Phone will now respond.
 
Try removing/replacing the battery, that could trip the memory in the phone

Unfortunately not on an iPhone...

The resetting/connecting to iTunes should sort it.
 
Mine has only done it once or twice in last 2 years.

Not done it all since ages.
