Hi as add on to previous post, photographing a famous girl band on Sun, will a 70 200 F4 cope? I have photographed a lot of bands who are more my scene and shot almost totally f2.8 or below, but wondering as this is major band whether I can expect lighting to be good enough to cope with f4? Not strictly necessary, but could give me more scope to try when staple shots out of way.

Cheers guys.

if its a big gig with a lot of light you should be ok, just think iso 3200 where you would be using 1600, I remember once stopping f2.8 glass down to 3.5 for DoF and that was in a tiny place.

With light you'll be fine if its dark you're screwed :D

Niiiiice! Was it at a festival on a sunny Saturday afternoon? :p

nope the aggy in braunton dark as hell in the club but they nailed the power on the stage lights :D

that is until the last 3 tracks where it was almost all dead flicking to full power - MEGA pain as you time shot right for an awesome expression and the lights go out grrrr lolz

I think 2.8 is simly going to be too much depth of field for an event like that. F4 is about what i'd use, even if i was using 2.8 glass.
