wind noise reduction

one of the editing programs I have is Wondershare Filmora. They have just included a wind noise reduction into their editing suit and i must say i am impressed.
so I picked out an old video with terrible wind noise

then after a couple of goes found out how to cut down the wind noise. OK not perfect but not bad after only a couple of attempts with the settings in the editing suite

Thanks, but I confess I'm not hearing a huge difference, but some reduction is better than none!

Be interesting to know what it does to sound you want to keep. Is it a simple frequency cut, or have they developed some algorithm that reverses typical wind noise patterns?

As I said John I have only just tried out this as it is also new in the editing suit. Like everything else it takes time to get the best from it

I didn't find it that impressive, much better to deal with wind roar at source with a dead cat.

Absolutely agree Ken no arguement from me. I posted the above purely as it has been recently added to the editing suit and I thought worth a mention

Sounds like what you would hear from underwater, it's so easy to just kill it at source.

It would be interesting to hear how the software deals with background wind noise when there is also speech or other required audio involved on the clip.
