If any installs create them I delete them. Thought you could find the desktop folder somewhere under 'Users' in windows explorer if you wanted to copy the shortcuts somewhere else?

neil_g Messages 30,364 Name Neil Edit My Images No 21 Mar 2011 #3 yes.. if windows 7 sees a network shortcut on the desktop for some reason it cannot access it then it deletes it. turn off "computer maintenance"... control panel (in category view) under system and security - find and fix problems left hand side - change settings turn off "computer maintenance" see how that goes. it was a pain in the arse for us.. edit - ah missed the edit. yes thats the one
