As Windows 7 has seemingly dropped Outlook Express I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird. It does the job required but maybe it's just me, it's not really a attractive looking program...if any program can look half decent on screen.

I'm wondering if any members using Windows 7 are using a different email programs away from Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail or Outlook from the Office Suite.

I am on the lookout for email programs, something different and not so boring looking, free or paid for email programs, I don't mind as long as it's reasonable.

I have been using google mail for years, works for me.:)

I think the most important thing is to have client based (eg thunderbird) rather than web based, as I don't want to have to visit a web page every time i want to read an email.

I use Outlook off an old copy of Office 2003.

Just because I'm an old stick in the mud and like the way it works.

outlook.com looks like normal outlook ...
windows live gives you 25GB of space in cloud.
For emails I use gmail, and for work ones we have remote access to our exchange server that look like outlook again;)

It's you ;) I like the look of Thunderbird the most of the mail clients I have used. Just don't like Outlook at all....

I find with Outlook that the IMAP client can be a bit flaky at times. Outlook was primarily designed to work as an Exchange client rather than an IMAP client which is great for business users but not so good for people using free or isp based email accounts where a reliable IMAP client is what is needed.
