wireless (file) transmitter question

ok - I'm looking at getting one of these (WFT-E4 II) for my Canon 5D II

as I understand it the communication is wireless and it would talk to my router
so far so good

If I use it indoors (i.e. near the router) signal should be ok

But, I want to use it in the studio at the bottom of the garden
My laptop can't get the wireless signal there so I guess the WFT won't either

ok - now the questions
do I need to set up a wireless access point inside the studio?
and what kit do I need for that?

alternatively - will it talk directly to my laptop over wifi?

hmm I saw that link, thanks!
setup is for a MAC though - I've got a proper computer (ducks and runs!) :rules:

at least it does seem to imply that it will talk to a laptop - that would do!

LOL just need to set it to talk on a ad hoc network instead of an infrastructure one, the settings should be in the WIFI setup of the laptop.
