Hello again guy's, Thanks for the help regarding the thermal paste BTW... I am now after advice on whether I can use my old wireless router in another room to connect to my new wireless router?? Or is it not as simple as that???

Would you really need both? Won't the new one (that's connected to the 'net) give you enough coverage and then just setup your PC/laptop to connect to the new router.

I think it's simpler than you think onform, Woblee has it right, as long as your laptop/pc has wireless networking of some kind they should just connect to your new router.

My new pc is in another room and it does not have wifi.. So what you have mentioned is exactly what I'm trying to do using the old router??

In other words will the two wireless routers communicate with each other or do you need a different piece of hardware??

No, get yourself a usb wireless dongle (about £20), that's the easiest way to do it.

You will need a "dongle" in your PC to talk to the "router" (the box plugged into the phone line).

In your old setup was your PC wired directly into the router?

Some wireless routers will act as an extender but many won't. You can buy extenders quite easily if required.

If the PC can see the new router then no need whereas if the signal strength is week in an area of the office/home an extender is a good way of boosting the signal...

As above really, if you can't put the new router in the same room as your PC and hard wire it in, get a decent USB dongle or wireless network card to plug into a spare PCI slot on the motherboard for your PC and connect this way.
