Wireless Shutter Remote for Canon 1D Mark 2 - advice wanted.

Hoping for a bit of advice folks.......

Can somebody point me in the direction of a half decent modestly priced 3rd party wireless remote for a 1D Mark 2.

Somehow I've managed without a 'cable release' since SLR days so I'm needing a bit of advice regarding the model required and what they can do. Obviously I'm looking for control over long exposures and ideally I'd like to be able to focus the camera with it rather just 'fire' it.

Hope that doesn't sound to dumb.

Hama does one and it works pretty well, except sometimes during the long exposure it may cut off for some reason. 2min exposures are very reliable, but 20-30min can be problematic particularly out in the cold.

Saying that wired release gave me even more hassle - the cable wires broke after a few weeks.

Food for thought as I'll be needing longer exposures for 10 stop cold wintery highland landscapes.

RF602s.

I use them with my 1D Mk2 as a remote trigger and they work a treat, they're a godsend when shooting landscapes outside as I can keep my hands in my pockets and still trigger the camera. Also they are useable as flash triggers for off camera flash. Finally when using them as a remote release they have a half ppress function to allow the camera to focus. r

Are the 602's reliable then?? I mean, do they trigger every time?

I'm not too impressed by the boys from China. I paid £18 for a YN128 on e bay, I didn't expect too much at that price and it was a bit hit & miss but fired most of the time. I then bought a much more sophisticated one from Amazon, same brand YN126tx, £32 no better. I'm sick of messing about changing batteries and trying to sort it so I'm looking for 100% reliability.

There are few things more frustrating than waiting 2/3hrs for your subject and thats the time the remote fails to trigger!!

Any "Hands On" advice would be appreciated!
