Hi
OK not a Photo editing question so i hope its ok to ask here
I’ve just changed to a iMac and I'm looking for feedback on what's the best and easiest Word Processing Program for a newbie.
I’ve had for many years Microsoft Word and Works on my PCs. Is the Mac Word similar?
I will be using for business, apart from letters i also do certificates and promotional material.
Any feedback would be much appreciated

Martin

You can get MS Office for the MAc.

I used OpenOffice for a long time but they've stopped developing that now.

I use Pages (Apple program) but if you're used to MS Office it would probably be best to buy that for the Mac.

I switched to a Mac a while ago and find that Pages does an excellent job. It's easy and intuitive to use, it can open MS Word documents and can also export documents as an MS Word file.

There are a number of other paid/free MS Word alternatives for the Mac - a Google search will bring them up.

Full blown (free/donationware) MS Office alternatives are also available for the Mac:
OpenOffice
NeoOffice
LibreOffice

Hope this helps...

I'm a pages user myself, as above find it easy to use if I remember right it uses all the same keyborad short cuts as word (they both copy word prefect ones)

As Alan lists, many a free office compatibale apps around.

There is neoffice which is very similar.

Bit annoyed to find openoffice development has stopped.

Google Docs is my choice.
