Wordpress Search Engine Ranking Help

im currently helping out my local football team's website

one of the things i need to do is up the rankings in the search engines

were currently on the second page and not moving at all most above us are pages off other sites which we should be above without trying

can any one offer any suggestions to help boost the ranking

Google XML Sitemaps with Multisite support - it says it is submitting this daily to google but not sure if it working

I'm no expert on SEO, but a few things I noticed on a quick glance.

There's no mention (that I could see) on the front page that it's a football team.

The page title is simply 'Home' - perhaps change that to something along the lines of Hall Road Rangers Football Club Home Page.

The lack of punctuation, full stops, capital letters, etc. will be offputting to some readers who then may not link to you.

The widget ready blocks at the bottom of the page shouldn't be there if they aren't being used.

What does "Hall road Rangers ar the home team to dene park " mean?

There's an advert in the right column that is only being partly displayed.

The colourful ads are a bit distracting - have you tried the text only ones? There is also an ad appearing to me on the pictures page (big green arrow and 'download') that appears to be part of the site, not an obvious advertisement - be careful with that as it's against ad sense rules.

(Come on Taddy, by the way - I used to live near there :p)

all done except the Home page

this just seems too long

appreciate the comments i do think it looks better now aswell - lost my way trying to do to many things with it lol

There are many factors to consider in SEO but links to the site is the most important in getting your website to rank well.

The website currently has 1 incoming link (http://www.ncel.org.uk/links/clubwebsites/)

- Exchange links with other clubs
- Find directories and add your link
- Be patient

got a load of links done now some of my own ssites which are high in google rankings so hopefully that will help

got some on facebook too to it which again i hope will help

the seo guide most of it i kind of knew already but just to be safe will have a good read later on tonight

be ptient mmmm me patient :lol: yeah im kind of ok with websites it kind of chills me out
