Wordpress - Spam, spam, spam.....

I have a Wordpress blog and I get loads of spam in reply to one or two posts, I have it set so that I have to moderate comments for them to appear, so no one else sees them, But it`s so annoying, I have had 23 today alone..... Is there any way I can block IP addresses so I can stop this happening?

It`s driving me up the wall......... :bang:

Akismet is an excellent plug-in for handling spam

I`ve now installed this, so hopefully things will improve.

Also make sure you have the latest version installed because there was something about a major security flaw in previous versions... and dont allow comments on all posts

Thanks for the extra info. Do you mean don`t allow comments on all posts at once or turn off the comments altogether?


I have to say that since I installed this earlier on today I have had no spam, whereas yesterday over the same length of time it went ballistic.
