Hi Guys,

Just after a bit of guidance. I am looking to do some work with models this year and was just wondering a couple of things.

  1. Is it ok to ask the model what photos they would like to see? Meaning everyone has creative block, would it seem like you dont care as long as you get the photo if you asked the model what sort of pictures they would like?
  2. Unless you have a good reputation and have been photographing for a while, I would guess it's a wise idea for your first shoot to be in a studio or somewhere in relative public view rather than the middle of the woods? Thinking it may make them feel at ease until you build up a relationship with the model.

Any comments or other suggestions/tips for working with models greatly appriciated! :)

both are good stating points but you may want to look at some of the modeling forums and look for group shoots to help you get started too.
 
HI Martyn,

What about trying a local college, the ones round here run course at night and at the weekend covering models and other topics.
