Off to Slimbridge for the first time tomorrow, any advice on where to go, what to look for etc ?

I live about 2 miles from slimbridge I really need to make the effort and go their with a decent long lens

A long lens is useful but you will still be able to take some good photos with a mid-range lens

Kingfishers, Avocets, Egrets, a Reed Bunting, Reed Warbler, Lapwings, the list goes on. Managed to shoot a few but some were a bit far off for my 300 f4 + EX1.4.

Unfortunately I managed to drop my 7D and above lens combo All seems to be working OK but I think I'll send them off to get checked when I get back home.

Oh no! ... Hope the kit survived okay.

All seems to be working OK, but I've cracked the lens hood on my 300 f4. I carried on using it and the pictures don't look any worse than my normal standard
