I was lucky to be camping at Tattershall lakes when XH558 performed her very last fully aerobatic display, no one apart from the RAF chaps at RAF Coningsby knew this was happening, she flew in with 8 Spitfires and hurricanes in a V formation, then went on to do a full 30 minute display of fast and slow passes, and the infamous barrel roll (yes it really did happen).
I even commented to Eileen that I thought this would be her final display as the pilot wasn't sparing the engines at all, full power climbs and that howl was amazing to hear'
I only had my phone to capture some of the action and the shots were a long distance so heavily cropped and sharpened, so definitely not the best, but hopefully enjoyable to see.
