So just bought a lovely Yashica Electro 35 GT of eBay. Very happy with it and it's condition.

As we all know these old cameras have battery issues. And I knew this before buying.

There are few options and I found one on YT by a chap called Shoot Film Like a Boss.

Anyway I've taken his great idea and adapted it slightly.

Where he used tinfoil to complete the circuit I've used a spring out of a pen.

4 LR44 batteries
15mm plastic pipe (50mm)
Pen spring.

The spring in the camera and in the mod help to keep the 4 LR44's pushed together. The only extra bit I could do is use a wider spring, something that fits in the pipe better.IMG_20200404_100438_copy_2592x1944.jpegIMG_20200404_100538_copy_2592x1944.jpegIMG_20200404_100526_copy_2592x1944.jpegIMG_20200404_100556_copy_2592x3456.jpeg

Now that's a good idea (y)

Congratulations on buying the best film camera for hand-held low-light photography ever made. Well done with your dexterity in packing all those little batteries together. I use a homemade adapter in my 35GT which uses the same battery (a PX28A) that my Canon A1 takes. It eliminates the need for multiple small batteries

Good luck taking photographs with your new acquisition.

Thank you.
I did look at that adapter but as I had the part already went that way.

Shooting around the house is fine for testing. Itching to give it a proper run.
