You should have said summat I'd have lent you a coat. :eek:

Funny how we don't miss our kit when we have got it but send it away for repair and it bugs the heck out of you.

My 5D2 was only away for 7 days and boy it was like I'd lost a friend :D

Yeah it was only gone about 10 days, but felt like forever, I was calling Sony everyday for updates :lol:

Really? I've sent a couple of thing to Sony, and they been very pro-active with updates - phone calls, e-mails, even follow up letters after service to check everything was OK. My turnaround for Pro gear was 5 working days.

I find the Pencoed Service Center excellent - really doesn't feel like dealing with a huge global corporation at all.
 
I'm glad you've got it back, I'm having difficulties getting my favourite lens off to Panasonic for repairs. I spoke to them yesterday and they said they would get a job number and ring me back, they didn't, They then rang me this morning wanting to know the model number of the lens before they could get the job number, I was near the lens at the time so I rang them back at lunch time, the chap I was speaking to was on lunch but another customer services rep took the details and said they would ring back later on with the job number for me. Still not rung back!

So I now have to ring them back tomorrow and try and get the job number then I've got to get to a Post Office and get it delivered to them!

3 Days to get a job number doesn't bode well for me getting my lens repaired does it!

I got an initial text, but then nothing after, they said they would call and update, but never did, I can't complain as the turnaround and price was much better than any other company so all round happy :thumbs:
