Im looking at a YN-560 II does anyone have one and how are they with nikon camera's

im looking for something to play with and they seem cheap and reasonable. Any opinions would be much appreciated.
 
Yes i use yongnuo they are cheap and i've had no problems with the 4 i own. The 560 is a manual model though. I recommend you buy one of there ttl models like the 465 as your first flashgun.
 
I have the 560 mk1 - hasn't let me down yet in about 2 years. I don't do TTL, prefer to set the power myself. It's no hassle. Nice and fast recycle times on the 560, within 2 seconds at full power with fresh batteries. Not had a look at the 560 II yet, might get one some time as a second unit.
 
I`ve got a couple of 560s. had no probs at all. If you don`t mind manual control you can`t go wrong for the price.
I would recommend you get some good quality rechargeables though.

I also bought some RF-603N tranceivers which I like and would also recommend
 
The 465 as rjbell mentioned. I think there's a new one out too, check on amazon.
 
cheers guys. think im going to go for the 468 as it does multi flash which is something I have been wanting to play with for a while.

Order time from china is 30 days but at £44 i cant complain

I have two 560IIs which are lovely and used as off camera flashes in optical slave mode.

I've also just ordered two of the new 568s which have full TTL and have both Canon and Nikon full TTL and manual slave capability controlled from the camera menu. Whoop! Should be very interesting to see how these perform.
 
beware, you'll probably be hit with customs charges [as i was] when ordering from China. Anything over £20 is a target. It'll still cost a lot less than buying a more well known brand here.

I ordered my last one from an eBay listing that was supposed to be a uk seller... Ha! They shipped it from China, to Germany, to a Uk warehouse where is was 'officially' dispatched from. I was quite miffed when I found out as was actually expecting it to be as the listing said :next day first class delivery. When it hadn't come after 5 days, I sent the seller a message. This is when I was informed in a round about way of the method in which they ship, and the 'next day' delivery was actually 'next day once it reached the uk' delivery.... However, better I suppose than getting stung with customs charges.
