YN468 and 50d don't like each other.Help !

Ok so after advice from here i went ahead and got the above listed yongnuo speedlite flash , on the 1000d it has worked perfectly , recently aquired a 50d and at the weekend just gone i was the best man at my mates wedding .

Took both these with me , later in the evening while trying to take a few shots of all my friends slightly worse for are the flash would only fire at random times.

Just tried it again and it will won't fire on the first or second shot , only on the third or fourth and i'm not moving or anything.

I have changed the batteries as this was my first thought .

The 50d is second hand off a pro tog .

Could the flash be kaput , should i have got a canon one .

Currently looking for a 24-105 so could do without the extra expense but if i have to then i will.

Any ideas .

They can be a bit iffy, mate - I got a TTL one for Nikon that should work on a Fuji S5 Pro as it's basically a D200.... I actually got three (exchanges) and they just pop off at around 1/8th power on the S5.... :shrug:
 
Thanks for the replies , simon the 1000d is not here at the moment iv'e lent it to someone so i cant test.

Identical problems to me ,even using the mode button it will go off at random times , ie- nothing until the 8th press the goes off at 12 and 13 ect.

So i think its for the scrap heap , time to look for a canon one .
