Zenfolio: Just a warning

Yes
This may have been a matter of me being silly but I thought I would just post a friendly warning. After paying for a years subscription with Zenfolio I decided not to renew it and jumped over to clikpic. Zenfolio asked me to renew it within a certain time period and I didnt, I of course assumed that it would just expire, possibly me being silly there

Checked my bank statement and they had taken $40.00 from it and renewed it for another year, needless to say a strong worded e-mail was sent and I got a reponse within 5 minutes saying that my account had now been closed and to expect a refund within 3 days.

Anyway not wanting to bash Zenfolio but just incase anyone else lets their old website expire to watch they dont renew it.

Thanks
Vicky.

Just as a matter of interest why did you decide to move from Zenfolio to Clickpic?

Zenfolio was quite slow on my computer for some reason and I thought Clikpic was a lot cleaner and more simple which is what I wanted. :)

Perhaps the warning should be to stop all Direct Debits that you do not want to use?

Yup maybe. However Zenfolio were never listed under my direct debits, it was a one off payment i made for the year but they retained my card details and just debited it with those.

You can also have this problem if you use PayPal. I had a subscription to a Forum that I decided not to renew, but as I paid via PayPal initialy, PayPal automatically renewed for me.

Forum refunded subs quickly, and canceled PayPal subscription for me as although I should have been able to do so, for some reason it wouldn't let me

Zenfolio made it clear to me that renewal would be automatic and sent me warning emails in good time to cancel if I so wished.
