twas a fantastic weekend and the weather held beautifully... For me, 2 is pic of the bunch although I don't really think it gives you an idea of the scale of the drop off...sorry but am not a great fan of portrait cycling shots, unless you are showing the rider at the very top of a steep...

    sun + porc

thanks all for the constructive feedback... on 1, was actually lying in a bush at the time, hence the green tinge on the tree on the right and the odd looking vignetting...in hindsight, using the leaves was probably a bad move as they were too close to the camera to give the effect i was...

some comments... 1) just don't get it..? rider going away from you, funny angle and blurred renault clio with some rain drops..? at least wait for the car to pass...and the angle is all wrong, not sure whether this is going up hill or not...I always think that runners / riders going away from...

Critique Some recent DH mountain bike photos.

Dave, some lovely colours coming through there...good use of the OC flash - i know how dark the rock garden was in the shadows... For the rock garden shots, i would have zoomed out to get more of the context of where the rider is going and esp on #2 to not have the rider so central... on a...

    Fell race

#1...pretty standard...captured just at top of slope, so no real context to the shot #2....good to try and get the scale of the scenery, but for me, i would have zoomed out and got the chap in landscape bottom left of the pic..with the wall peeling off to the right..? #3....bloke on wall...#4...

    Beginner Downhill MTB

    1) Find the rider too central to the shot, the flash not being powerful enough on the rider to really bring them out from the light background. Nice use of the curved tree on the left, but I find the light brown log in the front distracting...Had you been straight in front of the rider, may be...

    Friday Night Football

not bad considering it looks like they were playing by candle light..couple could do with a tiny bit of straightening - e.g.7&9..my pet hate is the timing in #3 - always looks like they've stubbed their foot :bonk: JB

    First time shooting track cycling!

for me WB looks a little bit greige (grey+beige)....and as a result makes the shots look a little bland… #1 - i would have got lower, you would have got more of the banked track in as well as the crowd, shot looks very static, i think because of the position of the front riders legs… #2 -...

    Some CX shots

overall - agree with the different angles…although…. for me… #1 - is a nothing shot - could have been taken by anyone standing next to the track…>>>>>bin #2 - shame you cropped off the front wheel, nice and low though, may be just clone out the twig/grass on the back wheel..? #3 - could do...

    Boxing last Friday

glad to see they made t'press, but I don't think these are as strong as previous ones you have posted... can't exactly put my finger on it, things like - #2 - looks like chap has actually dodged the punch #5 - funny lighting effect from background #6 - chaps eyes aren't looking where he's...

    Cyclo Cross

trying to get motion blur on someone running, carrying a bike, uphill, with multiple subjects in the shot..from the distance you have done..would be a non starter IMO....wait until they're back on their bikes moving faster...or get in really close just on the face...esp with their pained...
