Sarah - have you considered the Raynox DCR250 (or 150) as a cheap introduction and perfect pocketable item for walks. Essentially lets you focus to about 6 inches instead of 6 feet.

Where did you go diving? Some nice keepsakes there. If your p/s has a flash and the water is clear consider using the flash as it reintroduces the colour.

I did wonder with the nicely defined rocks and the long exposure but couldn't see the exif for exposure length. ND8 in one of them and ND4 in the other? Or did you overlap one over the sky?
Might I suggest one less brick on the beach and therefore 10 less ducks on the picture to 'fowl' things :)
I stand by my assessment
1. Bin was not out so not collection day ( a 1 in 14 chance round my neck of the woods)
2. Cats are bloody noisy
3. Most people take out the last of the trash just before the binmen come round
4. Woman may have checked later on
