    Goodwood FOS

Thank you very much! Not at all - I asked for critique! I appreciate the feedback. I spent a lot of time trying to get shots from angles that I don't already have so for 2 and 3, I was hampered by the posts in front of me in the stands. The same for 4; I took this from the new bridge over...

    Goodwood - another one!

Great set! Yeah it was a shame that he binned it, but I can see why he was pushing it if he managed to hold onto it in 2009 ;) Have a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5Wg3JUcKwM (watch to the end) Tom

    Goodwood FOS

Hi All, It has been a while since I last posted, but as always, love to hear feedback on my photos. Here are a few from Goodwood this year: 1. 2. 3. The hillclimb winner 4. 5. (This almost got binned, but I think the effect shows what it must be like to drive it in...

belle tout lighthouse & beachy head lighthouse

Both are fantastic - I think the colours in the second shot win it for me! Tom

    Long Exposure - First Attempt

From what i have read, one long exposure is more difficult to get a good result without a lot of experimenting. My understanding isn't good enough to work out the correct exposure for a 25 minute shot. Also, the longer the exposure, the worse the noise levels are. By taking lots of 30 sec shots...

    Long Exposure - First Attempt

Thank you! Thanks - it was with a LED torch and the white balance was set to 'tungsten' i think, so I suppose it does give it a colder look. I set the camera for 30 second exposure, set it on continous and locked the shutter release for about 55 minutes. On the second to last frame I...

    Long Exposure - First Attempt

Hi All, I'm sure you're all sick of seeing these, as a quick search reveals that I'm fairly late at having a go at this! (In fact, i see David had already beaten me to the location beat me to it! ) Anyway, here is my first attempt at star trails, with a tripod and remote shutter release...

    Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius

Appreciate the feedback, Matty. #3 looks much better now - I had though the 'cold' feel was a good style but it does have a bit more punch now. I have done the mono convert with a boost to the contrast and a slight change to the levels, but I think personally I prefer the colour...

    Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius

Thank you! It was an incredible building, really spacious and had an air of calm in what was a pretty hectic city! :)

    Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius

Thanks for your comments, Matty. I must confess that PP is not my strong point! Here's another one of the Galleria, with less people, but less ceiling... I've had a play with #3 - boosted the contrast and changed the white balance: What would you recommend for number 8? I had...

    Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius

Thanks- I'm pleased with number 2 and the Galleria Umberto was a stunning building. It was a great holiday as well! Tom

    Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius

yeah I took it at 10mm because I wanted to get the coffee mug in and the rest of the scene as well - I ended up cropping the photo down so i could have got away with 15mm or so probably! Might see if Ican correct that....

    Naples, Pompeii and Vesuvius

It was meant to be the desired effect! Thanks for your picks - it was really hazy shooting from the mountain. Tom
