Just catching up on the thread. Nikon Ken – I know, that last shot is awful. I mean, technically it is fine, but with a model like that, what can you do? Hope your implants are settling in okay… stitches in your face don’t sound fun at all. Think Andy is right, a good malt...

Looks like it was by the side of the road after running into a lorry!

Thanks. I'm glad I got something to be worht sharing for her - after she worked so hard for us. At least I have had the chance to delete the shots of Ian showing his "one big boob and view up the skirt" pose! Though it does seem burned in my memory

    Dales Weekend

Steve, your barn owl coming in to land is lovely, and especially impressive given the weather. The colour balance is funny on the portraits - but what with the mix of natural light and fluorescents - whatyagonnado? John, lovely one of eagle owl in flight with wing blur. and seeing vulture up in...

    Wet Wolf

Nice shot - not something that would have worked in sunny weather (and other consolations for the rain). Well done on 5k posts too - how long till you go round the clock then?

    Harry the Clouded Leopard

Nice pics - he seems better tempered in your shots than I remember him. But damn! I made my first trip to Paradise earlier in January but didn't know to look out for Harry. Thanks for the info.

    (Whipsnade) Tiger (the cold visit)

Ah - the old "Tiger on a monopod" technique. Nice :D

Cute Meerkats from Whipsnade (and a Wallaby!)

2nd is my favourite. Though all that sunshine must have made it a very hard day for you!

    (Whipsnade) Tiger (the cold visit)

lovely tiger - not spoiled by sunshine! shame there is a pale line in the background smacking the tiger in the back of the head knocking that line of snot out of his nose! quick touch up will lift the picture up to that special level.

A few of mine from a very damp whipsnade

great bear! like the meerkats as well - especially the last one who looks genuinely shocked that people were at the zoo on saturday!

Finally - I've got a Heron in flight.

Must have made your day. Heron's can be such gits - dashing off just when you've prepared yourself for them.. then they suddenly appear when you didn't even know one was close. Great you had the reflexs to catch this.

    Tiger, Wolf and bird

Wolf shot is lovely - though would consider cloning out the few light strands of grass going up to his muzzle and out the top of his nose. The pose and the light on the wolf is great. You could crop some of the top of the picture above the ears as it doesn't add anything to the composition...
