Godox TT685C & Canon 5D3

Hi all,

I'm probably missing something obvious here, but I've just purchased a Godox TT685c flash unit. Checked beforehand for compatibility with the 5D3 - which allegedly it is - and the manual that came with the flash lists the body as being compatible.

I've tried the flash on my 7D2 and it works fine. I've also updated the firmware on the 5D3 and it still won't work! Any ideas?

Have you enabled the flash? In the red menus - ‘external speedlite control’

I agree with Bebop. I's likely a camera setting.

Also assure that you are getting the hot shoe connections fully lined up. Sometimes they catch and the speedlite base doesn't go fully forward into the hot shoe. If the pins and contacts don't line up, nothing will happen.

Had a feeling it would be something as simple as this! I assumed I was lining them up properly but turns out I wasn't. Thanks both!
