It was a toilet; literally, rather than metaphorically, unlike some venues I've gigged at

There's another former public toilet at Crystal Palace that's been converted into a bijou underground dwelling.

The Cellar Door delights in the address 'Zero Aldwych'. According to some of the reviews they run occasional burlesque nights.

I was rather taken by the design echoes of Hector Guimard's station entrances for the Paris Metro.
