Cool attempt Mick............(y)

Some great duffers on here, really setting the standard....

Moments before this was taken, the buzzard was sat perched on a old tractor with the sun setting but it flew off before I had time to even aim.

Cheers Liam a worthy contribution and a good 'if only' account of the action.

I'd like to say this was an attempt at a BIF shot, but no.... its one of many that got away, the other rejects I am too ashamed to show

CC welcome lol :bang:

Red Backed Shrike, honestly, thats what the man with the big telescope told me. Obviously this is the fastest most aerobatic bird in existance and so this is actually a great shot of one, possibly the best ever.......

Andy

I normally delete all of mine but why I kept this one I don't know

Bird photography isnt my thing really (not that its not a valid form of photography just not in to birds) but i love this thread. anything that shows even the top togs miss just the same as any one. i think these threads should be set up for all subjects.

some crackers in this one

A bit of quality here Trev and then you tease by mentioning that you have done better.

Kind words - glad you like the thread :D

Had a massive hard-drive clear out found some good ones I missed and a few not so good ones which I have kept for some reason...

Taken when I first started shooting manual, made a bit of a mistake here and I was still shooting in jpeg...

My second time photographing Barn Owls, this guy started hunting right above me and then dropped to the floor in front me, this was the only shot I got because I was so shocked / slow... (full frame)

Went to the beach to photography sanderlings, my plan was to get one doing the wing/leg stretch, I have about 10 images all with legs and wings missing... (full frame)

And another Kite shot from this weekend, good eye contact though...

its like role reversal, the people who have posted on this thread trying to emulate my shots instead of vise versa

I've become a bit of a "specialist" duffer this year ...

This year I have mostly been shooting ...

OTTER ARSES!

In fact I am so much of a specialist I can even get four otter arses in the same shot! :D:D:D:D:D

(I know they are not birds but hey, it just goes to show how duff my duffers are!)

Great thread - and most of these are better than Ive produced at all when it comes to bird photgraphy.

It got me thinking (but ive had a rest so now i'll continue), would any one within 40 miles of Manchester be willing to teach me a bit about it, cos i'm going seriously wrong somewhere. Have car, willing to travel.

Neil.
